Bottle Rocket | Wes Anderson | 1996 | Comedy | Wes Anderson's movies unfold to reveal more about themselves with each rewatch, but I wasn't quite expecting this one to have as much depth. However, when Anthony tells his little sister, “I can't go home. I'm an adult,” a throwaway line to me when I was younger revealed itself to be an apt throughline in all of his work: the longing for the past, when we maybe didn't have to have it all figured out yet in this case, when we were child prodigy tennis stars in others.
